Oglesby, IL., March 7, 2013 -- Local website design and marketing company partnered with Google to host a marketing event for area small businesses.
In an effort to communicate the overall importance of small business marketing on the web, website design and marketing company All Web Promotion partnered with Internet giant Google to host an afternoon luncheon event. The event, titled Google Engage Connect, took place on March 5th and was one of many events happening simultaneously throughout the country. Illinois Valley and Chicago-land businesses were invited to attend a 90-minute talk on the different ways small businesses can benefit through online marketing.
Google Engage Connect featured talks by top Google thought-leaders Lisa Gevelber, VP of Americas Marketing, John Nicoletti, Director of Agency Development, and Bickey Russell, Head of Channel Managed Agencies. The conversation was delivered via a live video broadcast from Google's headquarters in Mountain View, California. All Web Promotion invited local businesses to tune into the broadcast from the company's offices in Oglesby, whereby they were also provided with lunch, case study presentations, and an in-depth Q&A session.
All Web Promotion has been a Google AdWords qualified partner since 2006, and specializes in the online growth and development of small businesses. It is for these reasons that the company was invited to participate in this event.
"A representative of the Google Engage program reached out to me and asked if my company was interested in hosting a Connect event" says Michael Roebuck, General Manager at All Web Promotion. "I remember thinking this type of an event would be extremely helpful to our area's small businesses as most aren't aware of the many online marketing resources available to them. I said yes and immediately began working with Google's team on making our event come to life."
With seating capacity capped at 20, more than a dozen Illinois Valley and Chicago-land based businesses registered for the event. Among the companies that attended were Butterfly Landing, Midwest Avtech, and Lock 16 Visitor Center.
"Overall, our event was a huge success" says Karl Ribas, Vice-President of Marketing at All Web Promotion. "Our guests were introduced to the numerous opportunities that are available to them through Google, as well as how we, as an agency, can help them to reach their marketing goals."
"Our team had a great time as well. We learned a lot about the marketing challenges that our area's small businesses face, and are very excited for the opportunity to partner with them in the near future," says Ribas.
Google has yet to comment on whether or not they plan to offer similar events in the future, but if asked, Roebuck and his team would welcome the opportunity.
"We are certainly open to hosting future events should an opportunity to do so arise." says Roebuck. "Google Engage Connect is a solid program and has brought a lot of value to both my company and our local businesses."
