Karl Ribas.com Launches SEM BlogLocation: Oglesby, Illinois Date: February 2005
Looking for regular search engine marketing news? Like to keep pace with what's happening in the search engine marketing industry? If so, tune into "The Karl Ribas.com Blog," a new Search Engine Marketing Blog brought to you by Karl Ribas of Karl Ribas.com. Ribas’ new Blog effort was created as a way to provide search marketers, and those interested in search marketing, with up-to-date news and events, as well as commentary on trends and best practices.
"Each week, I will touch base with my readers and share my views on many of the industry's biggest announcements, headlines, and tips," Ribas explained, "I have developed this Blog to be a resource for both Internet marketers and all others that become interested in the SEM industry. Any announcement, update, or change worth knowing will definitely be published in my Blog".
In his first entry titled "Blogging with the Butler", Ribas informed his readers of Ask Jeeves' recent purchase of Bloglines. An excerpt from this entry states:
"Ask Jeeves reported on Tuesday of last week that they have bought the privately held and popular Bloglines, a site developed for searching millions of personal web pages and aggregating news headlines. In an effort to keep pace with its rivals Google, Yahoo!, and MSN, Ask Jeeves plans to build a specialized Blog search engine and fold the service into its various properties, including personalization product ‘MyJeeves’ and the portal Excite.com."
"As we all know web logs (Blogs) can be used in a number of ways, but ultimately they are used by those Internet users who feel the need to express themselves and share with the world their thoughts and opinions on the many subjects that make up their everyday lives. I for one enjoy reading the publishing’s of many other "Bloggers" who share my interests and I applaud Mr. Jeeves for jumping on the "Blog band-wagon" and getting a piece of the action."
Ribas plans to offer similar search engine marketing related information on a weekly basis. "There are a lot Blogs online and very few are updated often," Ribas says "I am making it my personal goal to continuously provide updated content that my readers will deem valuable."
