Search Engine and Directory Submissions

Wondering which search engines and directories you should submit your website to? If so, this page is for you. I have taken the time to compile the following list of links and descriptions to many of today’s major online search engines and directories… at least to those that I feel are most relevant.

Please note that submitting to these search engines and directories will not guarantee inclusion, or prominent placement for that matter. However, doing so may indeed speed up the indexing process (referring to search engines), and provide your website with additional traffic and relevant linking opportunities (referring to directories).

SEARCH ENGINE SUBMISSIONS

	Google Search Google is great about finding new websites. However, if Google's crawler is not finding your website, they invite you to submit your website here.
	Windows Live Search (formerly MSN Search) The Windows Live Search crawler can find most pages on the Internet. However, if your site does not appear within their results, submit your website here.
	Yahoo! Search Yahoo! provides several ways users can submit their website. In addition to Yahoo! Search, submitting to Yahoo! includes listings in AltaVista and All The Web.

	Best of the Web Directory The BOTW directory is a comprehensive directory of content-rich and well designed websites. Regardless of the topic, it is the first stop for many Internet users.
	DMOZ Directory The DMOZ Directory is the largest, most comprehensive human-edited directory of the Web. It is constructed and maintained by a vast community of editors.
	Gimpsy Directory Gimpsy is an Internet directory that categorizes sites in a new and unique way. Unlike other directories, Gimpsy is concerned with the service that a site provides.
	GoGuides.Org Directory The GoGuides directory helps millions of people find information on the web one search at a time! This is a great directory, and one that promotes many topics.
	JoeAnt Directory JoeAnt.com is a great directory and one worthy of submiting to. They promote a wide variety of topics and quality sites giving users the most relevant results.
